Mini get away in Sibenik, Croatia

Good morning world!
I'm back from my trip to Croatia and am ready for a new
working week. I'm just writing a quick post before going
out for a photo shoot, so I'll write/ post more later today or
tomorrow.

If you've been following me for more than a year, most possibly
you know that besides living in Helsinki for the past 6-7 years, I
have been living most of my life in Sibenik, Croatia.
It's a small city on the Adriatic sea coast and I always visit it at least
twice a year.
This time I went there just to see my mom and brothers and spend
4 days with them. I felt that it would do good to all of us, so I've packed
my bags and flew there.
It was lovely to spend some time in the city where I grew up in and
show my daughter around and also meet some of my old friends.
It's like a walk down the memory lane :)

I took some Instagram photos on my trip and even though it wasn't
super eventful, I'd like to share them with you, in case that you're
planning your Summer holidays and would like to visit a new, inexpensive
but stunning and historical destination :)

One of the highlights of Sibenik are definitely his St. Jacob's cathedral that
is under the protection of UNESCO, 4 fortresses, hidden beaches, National
Park Krka and Kornat as well as SO worth the visit Pelegrini restaurant, one
of the top 3 restaurants in whole Croatia.

  1. Gosh... Croatia! I've never been, but from everything I've seen and read it looks like a beautiful place filled with beautiful people (inside and out!) I really hope to go one day.

  5. Hei, lovely pictures again!
I've followed your blog for a long time, maybe posted couple of comments too, I don't remember.. I just wanted to say a few things.
I read your interview in Anna magazine. You are a very brave person to talk so openly about your life, I really adore you. The thing I most liked, was that even though problems and hard life, you finally found peace and joy in life, and of course your passion, job as a photographer, an artist.
I'm a young artist too, I like photographs a lot, but my thing is painting, photos are a great way to get inspired though.
I'm not that good expressing myself by writing (that's why I paint!), but the thing I wanted to say.. I hope I find my way just like you did and be able to do things I love. I suffer from severe depression at the moment, but everytime I hear stories like yours, I feel that, maybe I still have a chance, maybe I could try, maybe I will have a good life after all. I'm sorry if this is too much to read, I'm just an anonymous blog reader & don't know you personally, I wanted you to know, there are people who like your work and get inspired (I hope many have said this to you, because it's true). Anyway, I've read many articles from magazines like Anna, but your story really felt real and honest, maybe the way you told it was beautiful, different.
I'm going to check your new exhibition soon, since I live here in Helsinki. Thanks for keeping this lovely blog, I really enjoy reading it :)
    Have a good day!

    1. THANK YOU for reaching out and writing! This means so much to me. This is what I have hoped and had in mind that if even one person that reads my story from Anna gets inspired in any way and sees that there IS light and love after suffering then my mission of opening up and telling about my life ( which wasn't an easy decision for me ) was more than right thing to do.
I was never good with words, I have improved with time of course, but I could never say or explain what I feel inside nor let go of some things and depression unless I have found the way to express myself and that was through my photographs. I completely understand you and wanting to express yourself through painting. The most beautiful art in my mind comes from the most vulnerable people, people which have seen the highs and lows, have experienced their guts hurting from depression and pain but have also known the beauty of laughter...
Just keep on believing and creating... There IS always hope in life and not a single tear is ever shed for no reason... You're practically buying your place under the sun with every hard thing that you had or are going through.

Thank you beautiful soul for writing and for supporting. I hope that you will like the exhibition, once you check it out :)
