Outfit post - Thankful

Good Wednesday everybody!
The snow has melted away already and the temperatures are
up, so I got up this morning and was in a great mood to take
some outfit photos. I didn't mind the snow at all, but outfits
do look much better when there's not a bunch of snow everywhere.
Hopefully we'll get some more snow soon, at least around Christmas
time, because as cliche as it sounds, I'd love to have a White Christmas :)

Not just because of the Thanksgiving, for the past couple of days
I've been intensively thinking about being thankful...
I've never had problems in saying "thank you" to people, no matter
if it's just thank you for handing me something, holding doors for me
or something much bigger, like thank you for being my rock, my friend, etc.
The "problem" which I've had and am still not 100% "cured" from is that I
would tend to concentrate so much on things that I don't have, goals
that I haven't reached yet, places I haven't been to yet, you name it...
I was always a dedicated, persistent and hard working person, but I would
never be 100% happy, I would always think that "that certain thing" or this
"certain event" were going to be something that would make me happy when
they happen to me or I accomplish them...
Well, guess what? It doesn't work that way... I did reach some of these goals,
I did got some of the things I've been lusting for, I did travel to some places
and events I could have only dreamed about and as much as they were amazing
moments in my life, ultimately they didn't make me happy the way I thought that
they would. They didn't make me happy because I didn't live in the moment, I was
already onto planning and thinking about what next I have to do, which new goal
to reach, which new thing to buy, etc.
Up until about a year or so ago, when I have finally started to realise that the
biggest blessing of all is to be present in THIS moment now, be thankful for what
you have now and live it, because you never know when is your time going to
be up on this place called Earth...

If you just stop and think about it... If right now you can say that you have roof
over your head, food on the table, you are breathing, moving, thinking clear and
have at least 2 people whom you truly love and who love you back...
You are incredibly happy and rich person and you have so much to be thankful for.

Always count your blessings, that's the only key to be happy and then and
only then, when something amazing happens to you, you will be so happy and
radiate happiness that other people will become happy just from picking up on
your great overall vibe.
Spread happiness and be thankful dear readers!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I'm wearing: Bag - Givenchy, Boots - Chanel, Coat - Max Mara,
Scarf - COS, Jeans - Zara, Sweatshirt - Mr.Steve, Beanie - Boss Orange,
Top - Esprit, Bracelet - Marc by Marc Jacobs

Outfit post - Caped

Good Monday morning everybody!
It's quite "funny" feeling to look outside the window
and see that it's pitch black outside. My daughter is always
confused when I'm waking her up for the kindergarten.
She doesn't understand why does she needs to wake up when
it's still so dark outside. :)
All I can tell her is: "This is Finland my child, land of Santa Claus,
so even though it is what it is outside, we're such a cool place because
Santa lives here!"
I don't have to mention how happily she gets up and starts her day!

I had a nice weekend which was filled with lots of Christmas decorations
shopping, eating great food, spending time with the loved ones, enjoying
the first snow of this Winter and admiring the opening of "Christmas street"
in the city centre.
How was your weekend?

As I've said, the first snow of this Winter arrived over the weekend and made
the whole city look like a beautiful snow globe!
These photos were taken on the same day when the snow arrived but early in the
morning. I did of course put a jacket and different shoes on later, but I could have
never sensed that it would snow later that day.
There's just some special magic about that first snow... It makes the whole city
somehow "brighter" and also makes the wait for Christmas much harder. :D

I'm now off to run some errands and I have a busy day on me, so talk to you in
my next post!
Have a great start of the new week everybody!!

I'm wearing: Shoes - Calvin Klein, Blouse - COS, Bag - Celine, Earrings - Chanel
Jeans - Tiger of Sweden, Hat&cape - H&M, Bracelet - Oscar De La Renta

Winter's magic

Hello my dear readers!
Just a quick "hello" from me today. I have been a little
bit redecorating my apartment yesterday and today.
Can't wait for another two months to pass so that I can start decorating
a new place, so I've been shopping for some more Christmas/ holidays
home decor and now I'm putting them in the "right" place and I'm having
the best feeling ever. I don't know what it is, but Winter and Christmas' magic
definitely do make me feel like I live in a wonderland or something...
First snow of this Winter came yesterday afternoon and it has added
to this "fairytale" kind of feeling which I have going on :)
Next up, relaxing with Michael Buble songs and a glass of mulled wine.

Have a beautiful weekend everybody!!

P.S. Thank you everybody for following me on Instagram, I have crossed
the 1000 followers mark and even though it's such a small number, for me
it's big and I appreciate it so much!

Pinterest home

Good morning everyone!
How is your week going? I've been so sleep deprived and
overworked that I def. need a moment of relaxation.
I'm off to my hairdresser in an hour and hopefully that will
be a nice enough treat for myself to reboot me and help me
to get through this day.
Sometimes, it's really so hard to balance work, family, hobbies
and still have a quiet moment for yourself + good quality sleep...
Some days I'm better at it, some days, not so much, but I guess
that we are all struggling with the same situation at some point in
our lives.

This brings me to a house... I'm having a huge fever to move to
a new place/ flat. It doesn't necessarily need to be a house, but
a nicer and bigger apartment than the one we're living at atm.
At the beginning of this year, we've sold our old apartment and moved
into a rented "transitional" one. In February our lease is up and I'm
so set on moving to a new place so I've been pinning away tons of
home decor photos on Pinterest and am so inspired by the beautiful
spaces I've come across, that I simply need to share them with you.

How about you? Are you happy with your home decor or are you
having a fever of moving/ redecorating your place?

Have a great rest of the day my dear readers!

My Christmas wish list

I know I might be a little bit too early with this list,
but I am going to London in 2 weeks and that's where
I'll buy something off of this list, so I like to go in prepared,
because shopping in London can be quite overwhelming and
it's easy to end up buying things on the whim and also things
that you might not need.

I'm a crazy "holiday junkie" and I just can't help myself. :D
Every year when the November starts I begin to think about
Christmas and everything that goes along with my favourite
holiday season.

What's on your Christmas wish list?

I'll make another post next week with ideas on what to buy to
your significant other, to your mom/ dad and kids.
Stay tuned and thanks for reading and visiting my blog! :)

A little bit of cosmetics never hurt anyone, right!?
I'm thinking of getting some lipstick, highlighter, perfume, etc.
Here pictured are:
*Burberry lipstick
*Chanel highlighter
*Chanel No 5 perfume
*Laura Mercier oil free tinter moisturiser
*Hermes collection
*Soap and glory chubby lipstick and bath sponge

I've been looking forward to buying any of items off this list,
all of these pieces have been on my wish list for forever and
I can hopefully get some of them in London:

*Chanel flap bag
*Burberry scarf and beanie
*Kenzo swetshirt
*Givenchy necklace
*Tiffany & Co. bracelet
*Moschino phone case
*J Brand jeans
*Saint Laurent boots
*Balenciaga bracelet

I love shopping some small goodies for home and
kitchen and Harrods/ Selfridges are my favourite destinations
for things like that.
I always need to stock up on some tea from Harrods and
sweets ( read macaroons ) from Laduree

*Harrods Winter tea
*Harrods Christmas tea cup
*Laduree stationery set
*Harrods Christmas ball
*Diptyque candle
*Pillow from Selfridges
*A bottle of some great quality wine/ champagne, etc.

Last things on my list are all the gorgeous pink things from Victoria's
Secret! I love their body lotions and always have hard times deciding
on only 3-4 of them. I also need a new cosmetic case and this one
looks just like what I'm looking for.

Outfit post - Timeless piece

Good Monday morning everyone!!
I can not start this post without asking you the usual
question: "How was your weekend?" :)
I had a lovely, chilled weekend with my family.
On Saturday we have visited our dear friends and also
got a super yummy take away from the best Mexican
diner in town, Cholo. They have killer burritos and I never
got disappointed in their authentic taste.

Yesterday we took these outfits photos on the way to the
lunch at our favourite Japanese restaurant, Kabuki and
I was in such a great mood since the sun finally showed up
and that's a rare "thing" in Helsinki once the colder days are
on and the Winter is approaching.
You really learn to appreciate the light and sun when you
live in the darkness... Quite poetic, but so true and can be
applied to other segments in life too...

My coat is the "star" of this outfit. It's such a timeless piece
and it instantly makes any outfit very elegant.
Can you believe that I've bought it 5 years ago in Vienna for
my birthday and still to this date it looks like I just took it out
of the shop. Thank you Burberry for making such a quality pieces
that I'm glad to invest in, since the money I've put into it has payed
off a while ago. :)

Alright! It's time to get out of my comfy bed, put on some clothes,
grab my stuff and go to the gym. I love working out in the morning,
it always clears my mind and I get to kick start a new week feeling
very energised!
Have a great day ahead everyone!

I'm wearing: Coat - Burberry, Boots - Vagabond, Jeans - Diesel,
Bag and scarf - Zara, Earrings - Tory Burch, Blouse - J Crew,
Sweater - Elemis, Bracelet - COS

Gourmet moment: Pad thai

Hello Friday and hello to one of my favourite dishes ever!
I wasn't a huge Thai cuisine lover before, but thanks to my
husband I have turned into one and veggie/ tofu Pad thai
is definitely my favourite dish. Second one got to be Massaman
curry, but I still have never tried to prepare it at home, so today,
I'll share with you how I prepare my Pad thai at home.

For two-three portions you'll need:

1 pack of tofu ( with or without spices/ taste )
1 carrot ( shredded )
1-2 spring onions
1-2 cloves of garlic
1 pack of noodles ( udon/ soba / etc. )
2 eggs
1-2 handfuls of chinese cabbage
1 cup of mung bean sprouts
handful of sugar snap peas ( optional )
1tbsp of tamari soy sauce
1tbsp of fish sauce
1tbsp of rice vinegar
1/4 cup of honey ( Acacia honey works too )
3tbs of sesame oil

* to garnish : chopped coriander and crushed indian nuts, lime

Boil the noodles according to the package directions, drain and
set aside.
In a medium sauce pan, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, honey and
rice vinegar. Turn the heat to medium and bring to simmer.
Stir occasionally. Set aside.

On a medium high heat, warm up the large wok pan and add oil.
Then add spring onion and garlic. Crack the eggs and let them cook
for a few seconds. Scramble them with a wooden spoon and then add
cabbage, bean sprouts and shredded carrot.
Cook for 3 minutes and then add tofu ( cut in bite size cubes ).
Stir occasionally until everything is ready ( 4-5 minutes ).
Add cooked noodles to the wok pan and then the sauce which you've
previously made.
Stir everything, until it's nicely combined and set aside.

Serve immediately and garnish with chopped coriander, crushed
indian or peanut nuts and squeeze a little bit of lime juice over the meal.

Enjoy!

Outfit post - Alexander Wang

Good Wednesday afternoon!!
How are you doing my dear readers? I hope that
this week has started well for you and that the cold and
darkness are not getting to you as much as they are to me.
I'm still in a "transition" phase in my head and body
from warm and sunny days to cold, chilly and mostly cloudy days.
I've been lacking some inspiration and adrenaline for the past week
or so, but I'm getting to the core of this and will be embracing the
fact that Winter is around the corner very gladly.
I have decided on one of the trips which I've been talking about
in my last post and I'll be going to London in the beginning of December.
I'm very excited about this trip and have already started to research
which cool places I want to visit this time, which restaurants I need to
check out and also, I'm excited to see all of those Christmas lights and
decorations of London' streets and as well, it will be a perfect trip to get
something special for myself as a Christmas present to myself :D
(and of course to my family)!

When it comes to this outfit, I'm wearing my absolute favourite bag ever
from Chanel's Dallas collection. I've got this bag back in July, in London
and ever since then I still can't believe that this beauty is mine, esp. because
it's so unique and limited availability.
Jacket is my only purchase from Alexander Wang for H&M collection.
As I've already mentioned, I didn't really like this collection. I've found
almost all of the pieces either looking very weird or were in some weird
fabric/ material which I couldn't wear on my skin even for 5 minutes.
But! This jacket... Almost as if it wasn't part of this collection, perfectly designed,
biker jacket/ coat of great quality and very warm too.

We took these photos on the way to my favourite little cafe in the city
and it's called Kuppi ja Muffini.
If you will visit Helsinki anytime soon and are having a huge sweet tooth
like myself or are after most delicious, home cooking then this place should
be your choice.
Also, have to mention that the interior of this cafe is so cozy and inviting,
you will feel like you're in a living room at home just that you'll be served
by the most kindest ladies I've ever come across in restaurant/ cafe business.

Enjoy this day ladies and stay tuned for the next post! :)

I'm wearing: Boots - Frye, Bag - Chanel boy bag, Jeans - Diesel,
Jacket - Alexander Wang for H&M, Scarf - Asos, Cardigan - COS,
Ring - H&M, Beanie - Boss Orange
